Wedding Planning Essentials
Wedding planning is a huge melting pot of emotions. There’s excitement, anticipation, romance, and unfortunately STRESS. But not to worry! We’re going to walk you through some of the most important beginning steps to planning your perfect day.
Getting Started
You might already have a general idea of how many guests you would like to include, but making sure that your venue is able to accommodate your number is important and may even influence your decision in the end. We love hosting weddings at Stokely Event Center. Our space spans over 3,500 feet that can be used in any way that best benefits your wedding day. Whether you decide to have the entire event at one location or perhaps move to a different venue for the reception, it’s super important to work out those logistics and details at the very beginning.
Amenities
Choosing a venue comes down to more than just a pretty backdrop for your photographs. While obviously, photos are an extremely high priority, it’s also vital to be mindful of the different amenities that are offered at a venue and whether or not it checks all your requirement boxes. At Stokely Event Center, our very top priority is to make sure your day is not only gorgeous and unique but also smooth and seamless as well. Our space includes a phenomenal, easy-to-manage sound system as well as a microphone for toasts and speeches. Along with music and sound, you’ll find a projector to be able to share unique and precious memories of your love story with all your guests. We even have clean up plans in place for each and every one of the events that we hold here. Less responsibility for you assures us that you will be able to make the most of your experience here.
Vendors
If you’re new to the world of wedding planning, it can be very easy to become overwhelmed by all the many different florists, photographers, hairdressers, musicians… etc. etc. The list goes on and on! If you’re absolutely lost, here’s a helpful tip. Pay it forward! Let one vendor lead you to another. Keep in mind that these professionals spend a great majority of their time at weddings, and chances are, they’ve seen the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to events. Sometimes word of mouth is the most helpful and reliable source when choosing your vendors! Your photographer may have insight on a specific florist who’s flowers just pop in photos! Your venue may have a list of musicians that they would recommend to you. Keep this in mind as you’re checking big items off your to-do list.
One Step at a Time
We know it’s a lot to think about, and we’ve hardly even covered the half of it here. While you want your day to be dreamy and perfect, just remember to take a deep breath. Put together a planning schedule and do things one by one and in a logical order. Give yourself deadlines and ask for help! It may be an extra expense, but consider hiring a wedding planner as well. Planners are another excellent source for all your shoulds and should nots and are expert stress relievers.
Just remember: Do your research and enjoy the process! This day is about making memories. Happy wedding planning!
